About

  • I grew up in an artistic environment, with a father who was a professional artist and a home life filled with his paintings, along with many by his artist friends, with artwork ever-changing on our walls. I was always highly encouraged to use my creativity, and in 2006, I decided to venture into creating my own paintings.

It's been 20 years now since I first began experimenting with reverse-glass painting on clear acrylic, exploring different ways to work with color, subtle metallics, and textures. I developed my own painting techniques and process, while also envisioning and creating methods for incorporating natural materials such as sand, shells, sea glass, and rocks, along with collages of hand-painted tissue paper, into my paintings.

The ocean and coastal landscapes naturally became a strong influence on my artwork after spending most of my summer days growing up at the beach in Del Mar, California, often staying until sunset. I'm particularly interested in capturing the movement of water, the natural textures of beaches, and the changing light and colors of the ocean and skies, bringing together their energy and quieter moments.

I begin my painting creating a collage, then work with the lightest colors to darkest. By the end, the darker color tones remain covering the lighter layers.
